Access Bank has introduced a unique combination of import financing and logistic services that will help eliminate bottlenecks of importation by Small Scale Enterprises (SMEs) for its customers in Kano State.
Speaking at a ceremony organised for its customers on understanding the new product, the bank’s Group Head, Corporate Business Banking, Muhammed Usman, stated that Access Bank has entered into a business agreement with GMT, which is the largest inbound logistics service provider in sub-Saharan Africa, to bring to its customers the first effective, cost efficient scheme targeted at SME importers for financing, logistics and warehousing services.
He added that the scheme tagged FLOWS, involves an end to end management of the entire import processes by providing importers with optimized landed cost of goods whilst guaranteeing the shortest lead time for the entire process.
Usman noted that the scheme promises importers a secured and reliable means of importing goods into Nigeria.
Representatives of various SME outlets from outside and within the state at the forum were optimistic that the new scheme will really remove the bottlenecks encountered by SMEs while trying to import.
