Successful entrepreneurs and thought leaders from around the world will gather in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou next week for Chinese e-commerce leader Alibaba Group’s first “Global Conference on Women and Entrepreneurship.”
Speakers will include Maggie Wu, CFO of Alibaba Group, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, Jean Liu, president of China taxi apps DiDi and KuaiDi Dache, Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post, and Jacqueline Reses, the chief development officer of Alibaba shareholder Yahoo!
Lucy Peng, CEO of Alibaba finance services arm Ant Financial Services Group, will give a keynote address. Alibaba Group chairman, billionaire Jack Ma, will deliver remarks. Shawn Covell, a vice president at Qualcomm, and Mark Schwartz, chairman of Goldman Sachs Asia Pacific will also join the discussions. Wang Jing, part of the billionaire couple that co-founded Beijing Toread Outdoor Products, will also be on hand.
More than 500 executives from the fields of politics, business, finance, technology, fashion and media are expected at the event that will be held May 20-21. Participants will discuss how the Internet has enabled women to become a force for change in society.
