The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria is collaborating with Deposit Money Banks to proffer solutions to some of the economic challenges facing the nation.
As a result, the institute and key players in the banking sector will converge on Lagos at the 2015 edition of the annual ‘Lagos Bankers’ Nite’ to discuss economic issues.
According to a statement by the CIBN, the theme of the programme is ‘Rebuilding the value system: The strategic imperative for Nigerian economic development.’
The economic forum will hold this week and will have key operators in the banking industry and a wide range of people in strategic sectors of the economy in attendance.
It is an annual programme organised by the institute.
The forum provides opportunity for the exchange of ideas on contemporary economic and banking issues.
It also affords bankers the opportunity to interact with one another and the business community.
The statement by the Chairman, Organising Committee, Arinola Adeniyi, and the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ide Iyanda, read in part, “This year’s theme centres on the regaining of Nigeria’s lost glory. It promises to be thought provoking as emphasis is being shifted to the foundation of banking as a most noble profession capable of lifting our nation to the glorious era.”
The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, is the special guest of honour while the renowned Professor of Law, Mr. Akin Oyebode and the Publisher of BusinessDay, Mr. Frank Aigbogun, are expected as the guests of honour.
